Are you searching for ways to enhance your designs with the charm of Amsterdam’s architecture? Look no further. I’ll guide you through the simple process of crafting perfect pattern brushes in Adobe Photoshop using these tiles which are completely free to use!
In this series I have tried to capture Amsterdam’s iconic architecture in 1024×1024 pixel tiles, which is generally the perfect size for seamless patterns. Midjourney‘s AI generation allows for easy tiles creation and by using Adobe Photoshop we can create pattern brushes that can be used to fill a large canvas with cool patterns.
Tutorial:
Step 1: Get Your Tiles
Start by downloading the free Amsterdam-inspired tiles above. Each tile is 1024×1024 pixels. Or create your own tiles!
Step 2: Open Photoshop
Launch Adobe Photoshop on your computer to begin the creative process.
Step 3: Import Your Tiles
Open the downloaded tiles in Photoshop
Step 4: Define Your Pattern
Go to “Edit,” then “Define Pattern.” Name your pattern and click “OK.”
Step 5: Use Patterns!
Your pattern is now ready. Create a new canvas of any size. Try 1920×1080 pixels as an example.
Step 6: Paint Bucket Tool!
Use the Paint Bucket tool (shortcut ‘G’) and instead of ‘Foreground’ select the option ‘Pattern’ as a fill option. Now select the pattern you have defined earlier and you should be good to go!
With Midjourney’s AI-generated tiles and Adobe Photoshop’s simplicity, you can effortlessly infuse your designs with a bit of Amsterdam style.
